last season i shot two ads for Billabong. the first one is clint (allan) on hurley gap. it was one of the first days of the season, clint just returned after his gnarly injury and decided to send it. we scored a cover and an ad. it definitely paid off. thanks bro.

the second one is of robbie walker. super quick mission to revelstoke with the given crew. drove 700km shot it in 5 hours and drove back to whistler. this was the first time i shot with robbie what a nice guy let me tell you.

Just drove 1200km in 72 hours for a lil assignment to interior BC. Almost forgot how good it feels to be on the road again, stop wherever and whenever you want, document whatever inspires you. There is something special about leaving that familiar zone of our homes and their comforts to venture off into the unknown.

Where am I off to? How long am I going for? What's the weather going to be like? Will it be worthwhile?

about a week ago i made a quick trip down to denver, CO for the SIA. (trade show) it was definitely nice to connect all those "address book contacts" with smiles and hand shakes. the highlight of the trip (besides the infamous burton party:) would be the transworld riders poll awards. congrats to my homie mark sollors for winning the "rookie of the year."

whenever the photo annuals come out every year i feel like a kid on a christmas day. turning every page is like unwrapping another present. it doesnt matter if its transworld, snowboarder, snowboard canada, pleasure, playboard etc. make sure you get one this year, it just feels good to be that kid again.

the first one i got my hands on this year is transworld. amazing work from sandbech, serfas, barash, ruhter etc ... the boyz killed it ... again.

super stokked that transworld staff chose me and darcy (bacha) for a little interview. thank you.

here is a little slideshow i put together from my latest trip to malaysia. new country, people, culture ... are always a great challenge. Malaysia is a really diverse and spiritual country. 3 nations (chinese, indian and malayan) of 2 major religions (muslim and buddhist) are living in (relative) harmony. strong contrast in between "new" wealthy and "mediocre" malaysia is also present.

hopefully i was able to portray some of that in the first part of the slideshow. the second part of the slideshow was the main reason why we came here. base jumping. first time shootin it. it just blew my mind, some of the craziest stuff i ve ever shot. photography wise pretty challenging, limited setup. safety was definitely one of the main concerns. stoked that everyone got home alright. thanks all the jumpers and KL tower staff for one crazy experience. see you next year.

I had a chance to meet Brian Bielmann couple days ago after pro photographer showdown in whistler. (what an honor) Brian is legendary surf photographer that has been capturing surfing on north shore (and everywhere else around the world) since 1975. Brian ended up wining both "overall winner" and "peoples choice" awards. what a great slideshow. congratulations

got back to whistler last nite after shooting urban for three weeks. stokked to watch taylor steele's new video "the drifter" that was waiting in the mail. Steele portrays Rob Machado's different perspective on surfing, traveling, life etc. if you like the teaser, buy it n watch it. keep an eye on Steele's new project Castles in the Sky as well as dustin humphrey's photography from both projects ... amazing.
